National built a whole series of autographic registers meaning that it was a register that you had to write all of the items on a paper inside the machine. Some of them had drawers & bell just like the big registers.

This one did not have a drawer, It is solid bronze with 3 rolls of paper inside & a roll of carbon paper in a pocket located on the side. You would install a roll of paper on the front spindle & run it over the writing table & hook it on a take up spool in the front. Then you would pull a bit of the carbon paper over the table & you would put another roll on the second spool & run it over the table & out of the front slot, then close the lid. After writing down all of the items for that sale, you would wind the crank feeding the top paper out which you tore off for the customer & the lower paper would remain in the machine for your records. There was a third spindle for an extra roll of paper or double copies?

This one has been restored, highly polished & clear coated, knobs & locks nickel plated, new beveled glass & all paper spools.

Notice the detailed handle as well as the rest of the cabinet. It would look outstanding on display in your office or store. They are very hard to find.
